HELENSBURGH Tennis Club's Gordon Reid had an unusual triumph yesterday — he won the LTA Fantasy Wheelchair Mixed Doubles Tournament with partner Louise Hunt.
They came back from a set down and 4-4 to beat second seeds Alfie Hewett and Lucy Shuker, who have two Paralympic silver medals and two Paralympic bronze medals between them, 5-7, 7-6, 7-5.
HELENSBURGH Tennis Club's Suzanne Marshall has set up an online Pilates class starting next week, with all levels and abilities welcome.
Suzanne said: "There has never been a better time to get into shape.
THE ANNUAL Helensburgh Tennis Club Souper Soup Christian Aid Lunch in the clubhouse, scheduled for Friday March 27, has been postponed.
Organisers Ann McKelvie and Phyllis Fullarton have decided that until the coronavirus picture becomes clearer it would be inappropriate to hold the event. It is hoped to rearrange it later in the year.
THE JANUARY winner of the Helensburgh Tennis Club Lotto was vets team player Trish Pryde.
Lotto organiser Gay Black said that Trish would receive a cheque for £20 shortly.
HELENSBURGH Tennis Club's first Children in Need Lunch in the clubhouse today proved a massive success.
The event raised £766, compared with £300 raised at last year's coffee morning.
IT IS that time of year again when Helensburgh Tennis Club continues its annual support of the Children in Need appeal.
Ladies — and men — are invited to an excellent Lunch with wine and soft drinks in the clubhouse in aid of this very good cause, and generous donations are hoped for. Raffle prizes would also be welcomed.
Last year's Coffee Morning raised £300 for Pudsey, and it is hoped to exceed that this time.
TWO Helensburgh Tennis Club Lotto winners were announced today by organiser Gay Black.
The July winner was member and musician Louise Burnet, for the second time this year, and the August winner was hon president Donald Fullarton. Both will receive cheques for £20 shortly.
A WARM welcome to all new members of Helensburgh Tennis Club — we hope you are enjoying your tennis with us.
Our first social event is the Chinese evening on Friday May 17. Some social tennis will be followed by tucking in to a Chinese meal.
Please arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm tennis start. The tennis normally takes 60-90 minutes. Please bring your own refreshments.
The costs are £10 for tennis and food, £7 if only for the meal!

For the yellow ball juniors (ages 12+), Bobby has a 90 minute match play session starting this Saturday through till June from 11am.
This session is for members only and is free of charge.
