Fraser was up against fellow 1st team player David Reid, who was watched by his brother, wheelchair champion Gordon, who popped in to support him.
Sadly David had no answer to Fraser’s power and lost in straight sets.
The ladies event saw reigning champion Katie Hope up against Catherine Court. The power and experience of the former Scotland internationalist was too much for Catherine, and Katie won in straight sets.
In the mens doubles final, Fraser Fulton and David Reid beat David McCowan and Stephen Lewis 6-3, 6-3. In the ladies doubles final Katie Hope and Alison Fotheringham beat Catherine Court and Jackie Hunter in straight sets.
In the over 55 mens singles Keith Love was up against Phil Hamilton. Keith led throughout the opening set and sreached 5-2. Phil somehow dug in and gradually came back, eventually winning the set 7-5.
Once again Keith took a 3-0 led in the second set but this time he managed to keep the lead despite a last minute fightback from Phil. Keith secured the set 6-3 to force the champions tie break.
Both players held their serves until at 8-8 when Keith managed to force Phil into hitting a wide forehand and found himself at match point.
Keith held his nerve and placed served wide to Phil’s backhand and charged the net forcing Phil to go for a make or break shot down the line which went wide giving the match to a jubilant Keith.
Jackie Hunter secured the ladies title over 55’s singles title with a win over Sue McKichan.
Katie and Alastair Hope won the mixed double beating Stephen Lewis and Alison Fotheringham. Charles Carver and Clive Charters beat Keith Love and Mike Wright in the over 55 mens doubles, Val Pace and Iain MacLaren beat Ann Morison and Ralph Ward 6-3, 6-4 in the over 55 mixed doubles.
