THE 2019 West of Scotland tournament for senior player age groups will be played at Scotstoun Leisure Centre from Thursday to Sunday October 24-27.
Mens and womens singles and doubles events will be organised for the 40, 55 and 70 & Over age categories.
In all doubles events, all matches up to the final match will be played over a 4-5 hour time slot on allocated. Pairs will be guaranteed more than one match on the day and formats will be adapted to the number of entries.
Doubles events will remain competitive but much more social and without the uncertainty of players committing to all four days of the tournament.
The doubles final of each age group will be played on finals day, Sunday October 27, unless there are four or less pairs, when the event will be completed on the first day of play.
Tennis West of Scotland hopes that these changes will encourage more club pairs to enter.
One round of singles will be played per day with each singles draw having a maximum size of 16 players.
